National Law School of India University, Bangalore

Established in 1986, NLSIU (National Law School of India University) is the first National Law University in India. It was founded with the mission to pioneer legal education reforms and transform the Indian legal system through research and policy interventions. NLSIU was among the earliest institutions to introduce the five-year integrated law degree at the undergraduate level, starting in 1988. Over the past three decades, the university has maintained its leadership in legal education, thanks to robust collaborations with legal academics, the Bar, the Bench, and the Karnataka State Government. NLSIU’s long-standing record as a premier law school has solidified its position in the field.
